John Thornton

Howdy, y’all! We’re John, Siera, Hosanna, and Wesley Thornton, and we have the privilege of serving in Wenden, Arizona. We began this church-strengthening ministry in January 2024, and it’s been amazing to witness the growth God has been bringing.

Our primary responsibilities include pastoring the local church—one of just five within a 20-mile radius—and helping to establish local leadership. God has truly been blessing the work here. For over 50 years, this church has been served primarily by RHMA missionary pastors. Because of their faithfulness and God’s grace, we now have the joy of seeing that legacy bear fruit.

This local congregation is bustling with growth. It’s exciting to see the increase in attendance and the thriving ministries like Bible Study and Youth Group. But more than anything, our prayer is for deep spiritual growth—that everyone here in Wenden would sink their roots deeply into Jesus Christ, that we would lovingly fellowship with one another, and that local men would be inspired to step up as leaders.
