After first hearing about RHMA while living and attending college in Chicago, Amy and I joined the organization in October 2014, driven by a passion to reach and support struggling churches in rural America. In May 2015, God led us to Carter Gospel Fellowship in Carter, SD, where we’ve been serving ever since.

Carter is a cattle-ranching and hunting community located just east of the Rosebud Lakota Sioux Native American Reservation. As church strengtheners, our ministry focuses on guiding the church toward becoming a self-sustaining, healthy, biblical congregation—primarily through leadership development and cultivating a godly, nurturing atmosphere.

Our work includes both pastoral ministry and community outreach, which often involves helping with livestock or participating in local events. I (Tyler) also serve in the local ministerial association and partner with a nearby Christian camp. Amy works part-time at a local assisted living facility, using her role to build relationships and minister to residents within the community.

In addition to serving the ranching community, our ministry includes evangelism among the Lakota Sioux Tribe. We are truly blessed to be here and give all praise to God for calling us to this work.
